QUICK LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS & TIPS FOR NOWHERE:
1. YOU MUST HAVE A MESH ENABLED VIEWER TO PLAY SUCH AS THE OFFICIAL LL VIEWER OR FIRESTORM.
2. YOU MUST WEAR THE HUD TO PLAY. IT WORKS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU WEAR IT. CLICKING THE "INFO" BUTTON WILL GIVE YOU A LINK TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS ON OUR WEBPAGE. CLICKING THE HOME BUTTON WILL TAKE YOU BACK TO THE BEGINNING.
3. YOU WILL NEED TO ACCEPT THE EXPERIENCE KEYS FOR PULSE GAMES TO PLAY. WHEN PROMPTED, AGREE TO ACCEPT THE KEYS.
4. EXPECT LAG & ADJUST YOUR VIEWER SETTINGS APPROPRIATELY. BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS. PLEASE DON'T SHOUT, CHEAT OR GIVE PUZZLE ANSWERS IN OPEN CHAT.
5. PLEASE REMOVE FACE LIGHTS, POOFERS, PARTICLE EFFECTS, HEAVILY SCRIPTED & PRIMMY OBJECTS. THE LESS TO REZ, THE BETTER FOR EVERYONE! :)
6. IT NEED TO BE DARK!!!!! SL MIDNIGHT WINDLIGHT IS THE BEST DEFAULT SETTING. PLEASE TURN THE SOUND UP AND YOUR MUSIC DOWN OR PREFERABLY OFF. (SOUNDS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE GAME!) WE HIGHLY SUGGEST SETTING YOUR VIEWER DISTANCE TO 130 METERS OR HIGHER & YOUR PERFORMANCE SETTINGS TO ULTRA HIGH IF YOU CAN. WE USE MATERIALS, SHADOWS & LIGHTING TO ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE.
7. TRIGGER WARNING! THERE WILL BE VERY MATURE SUBJECT MATTER, ADULT LANGUAGE & GORY VIOLENCE. CHILD AVATARS ARE WELCOME BUT ONLY WITH ADULT SUPERVISION, PERIOD.
8. CLICK EVERYTHING YOU SEE FOR CLUES & READ ALL NOTES AND HUD PROMPTS TO SOLVE PUZZLES & ADVANCE IN THE GAME. YOU WILL FIND PIECES OF CLUES, KEYS & CODES TO GET TO LOCKED AREAS AS YOU NAVIGATE THE GAME.
9. THE GAME IS NOT EASY OR SHORT & YOU WILL HAVE TO SOLVE PUZZLES & CLICK CERTAIN ITEMS TO ADVANCE THE STORY. UNLESS YOU CRASH, THE HUD WILL REMEMBER YOUR PROGRESS IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE & COME BACK. IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO SAVE LANDMARKS IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT CRASHING.

NOW FOR THE DETAILS:
There are 2 things you NEED to have in order to play. First is the NOWHERE Game Hud, it is pictured below. The HUD will give you text, pictures and audio messages that are essential to game play. It also has a HELP button that will bring up this guide and a HOME button that will teleport you to the beginning in case you get lost or want to start over.
This year we are charging a small fee of 50L for the Game Hud to play, which amounts to 20 cents in RL. We're doing this to slighly offset the cost of labor, time and money to create it. This will help us to continue to do these in the future and we hope for your understanding. For a few hours of gameplay and all the free gifts we think this small fee is VERY much worth it. After November 7th, the game hud will be free.
Secondly you NEED to accept the PULSE GAMES experience key. Experience keys are second life's method for giving a game or other experience extra control over your Avatar without nagging you for permission every time. "NOWHERE" will only be using this to teleport you automatically to the different levels of the game. The first time you encounter an item that is using our experience key you will get the popup shown below.
Select Yes to use the Pulse Games experience key and play "NOWHERE". Experience keys are fairly new to Second life and are not supported by all 3rd party viewers yet. You may need to update your viewer or use the Official Linden Labs viewer or Firestorm. For more information about experience keys check out Experiences in Second Life
Game Play Help & Suggestions for the best experience
BASICS:
Turn your SOUNDS UP
Turn MUSIC OFF (Or at least way down)
Set your Viewing Distance to at least 130 meters
Set your lighting to Midnight
The best setting of course is Ultra High as we use materials, lighting and shadow to enhance the game but use the highest settings that are comfortable for you.
Click EVERYTHING (Click NPCs multiple times for their entire conversation)
Watch for game content, hints and pictures on your NOWHERE Game Hud as you go through the game and as you click game content.
You may be teleported without warning to go back to the last level simply click the back arrow teleport
Sound is very important to the game so make sure you have it turned up. Explore the game locations, read the text and listen to the sounds and look for clues. Click most everything, especially FULL BRIGHT items, things that stand out, photographs, papers, notebooks etc. There are also NPC (Non Player Characters) through the game and they have many things to say, Click them a few times to hear everything they need to tell you. They will help you play! Join the in-world group "Pulse Games" to chat with other players and get hints. If you get totally lost click the HOME button on the Radio HUD to return to the beginning.
PLEASE DO NOT teleport people into the game or give away locations of items or other spoilers in open chat or in the Pulse Games group chat. It spoils the experience for people that want to discover these things for themselves and if we catch you doing any of these things, we will ban you from the game and all future events. Keep spoilers and item locations to private IMs
Hunt Items (Glowing Hexagonal Boxes shown below)
NOWHERE is both a Survival Horror Halloween Game and a PRIZE hunt. There is NO master list of prizes and we have no idea how many prizes our Sponsors are putting out. There are usually between 50 and 80 and could be as many as 100. Prize Boxes may be found hidden or out in the open all through the game. If you find a Box that is not working please let us know so we can contact the vendor to fix it.
Dealing with Greifers and other Nonsense.
If someone is being a jerk, begging for money or causing problems in the game we need your help to stop it. Please tell us the full name of the avatar & what they are doing. You can do this either in the "Pulse Games" group or by IMing Roblem Hogarth, Ivey Deschanel, Dragon Fang or Yukio Ida directly. As we are not on 24/7 and it takes time to ban someone, remember you can right click them and select Mute and Block to protect yourself. But please get the name to us as they are likely bothering other people as well and there is nothing we can do if we don't have the name.
NOWHERE is across multiple sims in order to help with lag, and sometimes sims reboot so please be understanding and try again later if some part of the game is down. Lag of course is going to happen. Please remove as many heavy prim attachments as you can as well as things like poofers and particle effetcs. Lag is more of a problem when we first open than later on. If you are having real problems with lag please try later. The game runs at least 2 weeks after Halloween so there is plenty of time to check it out when lag isn't an issue.
